The work of one of Mississippi's greatest treasures, Eudora Welty, is brought to life in this one-woman performance starring Equity actor Jo Ann Robinson. Robinson has been acting professionally for 30 years, and is a performer in regional theatres around the U.S.

The classic short story is told by "Sister" who gradually becomes so fed up with her family that she moves out of their home in China Grove, Mississippi and into the local post office... where she just happens to be post-mistress.

In recounting her story (to whoever will listen), "Sister" talks about her trials and tribulations with Papa Daddy, Uncle Rondo, Mama, ESPECIALLY her younger sister Stella Rondo (who's spoiled), and Stella Rondo's little two-year-old adopted child by the name of Shirley T.

"Sister" gives a different voice to each member of the family, including her version of Shirley T's "Popeye the Sailor Man" sung in Yankee, because Shirley T was born in Illinois!
